Merriman’s Kapalua was founded on a simple but powerful idea: celebrate the land, honor the farmers, and serve exceptional food with aloha. Chef Peter Merriman is a pioneer of Hawaii Regional Cuisine and helped define the “farm-to-table” movement across the islands. His commitment to working directly with local farmers, ranchers, and fishermen has shaped the Merriman’s dining experience into something both elevated and deeply rooted in community.
With breathtaking views over Kapalua Bay and decades of culinary excellence behind it, Merriman’s Kapalua has become one of Maui’s most iconic venues for weddings and events. Today, we continue that legacy by blending impeccable service with stunning oceanfront settings, creating unforgettable moments for every couple and guest.

Our team manages every detail—from coordinating with trusted vendors to booking food, beverage, and staffing, as well as handling décor setup. Because we know our venue intimately, we can anticipate what’s needed to make everything flow seamlessly.

“Truly cannot say enough good things about Merrimans! We had our wedding there in May. We had never been there before and planned the whole wedding site unseen. We only reached out a few months prior, and even with the short timeline, they made it happen and happen beautifully! The planning process was easy and their list of preferred vendors fit our every need.
Debbie the coordinator was so nice and easy to work with – she never bombarded us with communication, she was laid back and just handled it! She was so flexible with us, which we really needed being a destination wedding. We appreciated it so much, and all of her suggestions were perfect. We can’t thank Debbie enough for taking all the stress out of wedding planning and the day of, and for truly delivering even better than we could have hoped for!
The food was also amazing! The menu they give you to choose from is so incredible it was hard to pick just a few things! I still have friends and family telling me how much they enjoyed the mini burger sliders they served as appetizers! And along with the food – they made some of the best cocktails!!
For music we went with Akoni, and wow, so many guests made comments about how he truly made the whole event. He knows exactly what to play and when to play it to set the whole vibe and he was great at it! He even learned a song specifically for us with only one week’s notice. He was also so easy to work with, and I can’t recommend him enough!
We had such a great time at the wedding we decided to go back for dinner just the two of us a few nights later. What felt like the whole staff came over to our table to say hi and tell stories about how much they enjoyed the wedding, they even remembered our drink orders and favorite foods! Akoni was playing in the restaurant that night and even played and dedicated one of our wedding songs for us that night too. They treated us like royalty! We felt so special.
We truly can’t thank everyone at Merriman’s enough for such a beautiful and memorable experience – but particularly we’d like to thank Debbie, Akoni, Sunya’s Flowers, Dmitri & Sandra Photography, and our incredible wedding and dinner servers McKenna, Leah, Dennis, and the bartender Diego. Our event, from the planning with the wonderful event staff, to the cocktail reception outdoors, to the sit-down dinner in the private dining area, was seamless. The service the night of our reception and dinner was efficient and prompt, but not rushed. The food was delicious and fresh and the views, of course, were spectacular.
